Genealogy Update on Nancy Ann Trobaugh Austin

Nancy Ann Trobaugh Austin was Mama Carr’s mother and my great grandmother.  Because I share her name ,Nancy, I have developed a keen interest in her personality and heritage.  Regrettably, this interest has developed after my Mama, Peggy Carr Dodd developed dementia and can not answer my many question.

Much to my surprise, our doorbell rang Sunday, the day after Christmas, and there stood two strangers who introduced themselves as Dorothy Austin Vanover and her daughter, Patty.  Dorothy is mama’s first cousin because she is the daughter of Claude Austin, Uncle Bunk, Mama Carr’s youngest brother.  She was driving through Tulsa and wanted to find out any information on my Mama and Dad.  She had visited our Austin-Carr website previously and hoped that this was the correct Steve and Nancy Milam.

We had a delightful visit and she has given me and mailed to me a wealth of information concerning some of our heritage.  I have entered some of the geneology facts to the geneology component of Austin-Carr site.  If interested, it traces our descendants from Johan Michael Trobaugh, born about 1700 in Evangelich, Sohren, Rhienland,preussen through 6 generations to Nancy Ann Trabaugh, our great grandmother. She sent other information too, but I must organize it. This demonstrates that the website is being viewed by people we don’t even know.
