USS Paul Henry Carr Newsletter

Hello Carr Family,

I have had opportunity to visit via e-mail with the latest Commanding Officer of the USS PAUL HENRY CARR, FFG-52. He is interested in developing a relationship with Uncle Paul’s extended family like previous CO’s. I am pasting the pertinent part of the last e-mail he sent me: (more…)

Dave Rush plays Pancho to Chae’s Lefty

My dad was a loyal OU Football fan.  We never (OK, once, the fall before he died, when he simply could not stay for the rest of the game) left until the game clock showed 0:00.  Didn’t matter if OU was up by 60 points, or behind by 60 points.  You stayed for the end of the game to support your team.  Five and one-half years after his death, we still carry on that tradition (OK, once again, broken once, when there was a lightning delay, with a considerable downpour, we left – it was right around half-time – and did not come back). It was one of the Carr-Fests wherein the Carr Sisters would take advantage of the opportunity of Juanita bringing her boys to have a family reunion. Juanita would have still been in her twenties, with at least one, possibly two, three, or four children

After the kids have gone down for the night (more…)

E-mail from Japan – Thomas Rush & Nickilynn Estologa

Hi Everyone-
So we made it safely to Japan and are all set up in an apartment. As of now we’re working for NOVA group, things seem relatively stable for the company at this point, however there does seem to be a little worry about whether next months wages will be paid on time. And there is a lot of stress and instability among the staff… (more…)

USS Carr Family Day cruises

Invitation for more cruises on the USS Carr.

CARR Family,

I hope this email finds you all well.  Time is flying by and I can’t believe Thanksgiving is next week already.  We’re finally out of the shipyard and we’re busy trying to get ready for our Engineering Certification the week of 27 Nov.  The crew is tired, but spirits remain high….I’m not sure how they do it, but I’m blessed to have a crew like this!

The first two weeks of December, CARR will be operating off the (more…)
